Separate a series from a proposed model
A catalogue can describe a family of transformers without identifying the exact unit offered for your project. Record the series name separately from the proposed model and configuration. Keep unconfirmed fields visible instead of completing them by assumption.
Build a comparable request
Send the same project requirements to each selected manufacturer. Include capacity, voltage ratio, frequency, installation conditions, quantity and destination. Ask the supplier to state any departures from your requirements and provide documentation for the proposed unit.
Keep source review and test evidence separate
A reviewed manufacturer page establishes what the manufacturer publishes. It does not establish that an independent test verified the offered model. Request the report identifier, issuer, covered model and applicable conditions. Retain the source and review date alongside each statement.
Resolve missing losses before comparing offers
When a catalogue omits numeric losses, leave the fields unknown and request a model-specific datasheet. Do not treat a general efficiency claim as a guaranteed loss value. Use the directory to organize sourcing; complete technical acceptance with the responsible project engineer.
Prepare the next step
Choose manufacturers, open an RFQ and attach the project specification. Keep each manufacturer conversation separate so its proposed model, clarifications and evidence remain traceable.
