POWER TRANSFORMER SOURCING

Yawei 110 kV class · 8000 kVA catalogue configuration

Model specifications, source documentation and manufacturer contact.

Single capacity row · historical 8 MVA power transformer

Yawei publishes 4.9 kW no-load loss and 38 kW load loss for its 8,000 kVA entry in the 110 kV two-winding table. A useful 8 MVA comparison needs an exact offered design, matched loss conditions and the same supplied package. This capacity row does not establish a current price, factory test result or ready-to-install replacement.

Normalize the 8 MVA bids before choosing by loss or price

Ask each bidder to quote the same 8,000 kVA duty, voltage ratio, frequency, taps, connection, impedance requirements and cooling arrangement. Keep the catalogue reference, current guaranteed values and actual factory measurements as separate columns. The 38 kW table value lacks a load-loss reference temperature in the reviewed page, so it is not yet a normalized comparison entry.

The adjacent 6,300 and 10,000 kVA rows serve different capacity requirements. Their absolute loss values cannot establish an efficiency ranking for an 8 MVA purchase. For a project operating-cost study, supply the actual load profile, operating hours and energy-price assumptions instead of treating catalogue losses as a fixed annual expense.

Normalize commercial scope too: oil, cooling/accessories, testing, packing, shipment and site support must be identified in every offer. A low price for a bare transformer cannot be compared directly with a tested and delivered package. No price range is constructed from unrelated capacities or suppliers.

  1. Freeze one requirement

Send each bidder the same electrical duty and supply-boundary schedule.

  2. Resolve missing conditions

Collect reference temperature, tolerances, cooling and test basis alongside loss guarantees.

  3. Compare the full scope

Evaluate the same package, delivery destination, documents and project duty; flag exclusions.

Preserve the row and confirm its shared options

The original heading identifies an oil-immersed three-phase two-winding transformer with de-energized regulation. The 8,000 kVA row gives 0.5% no-load current, 4.9 kW no-load loss and 38 kW load loss. These are already in kW, and no conversion or improved value is substituted.

The shared cells list YNd11, 10.5% impedance, ±2 × 2.5% taps and low-voltage choices 6.3/6.6/10.5 kV for this part of the table. The high-voltage cell includes unclear additional text alongside 110. Ask the maker to return one unambiguous rating sheet; the unclear text is not silently converted into extra voltage options.

03

Separate system compatibility from installation fit

For a replacement or parallel-service requirement, provide the existing nameplate, diagrams, protection and operating conditions. Have the responsible engineer and maker review ratio, connection, taps, impedance, tolerances and the intended arrangement. The catalogue’s shared 10.5% cell cannot by itself establish compatibility.

For physical fit, request final terminal positions, cooling/accessory layout, dimensions, masses, oil condition, lifting points and foundation information. Supply the existing rail/mounting interfaces, transport route and service clearances. No 8 MVA physical schedule is established by the reviewed table or generic photograph.

Describe altitude, ambient and exposure and require a cooling/temperature schedule for the offered unit. The broad application list and reliability claims are not site-specific limits or installation approval. Obtain the supplier’s installation and maintenance instructions as part of the package.

04

Define release evidence and delivery milestones

The page’s named SSZ20-240000/220 test statement concerns a different 220 kV product. Company certificates and general process descriptions also have separate scopes. Request evidence applicable to the selected 8 MVA design and the delivered unit’s routine-test records; match model, ratings, conditions and drawing revisions.

No verified current price or lead time is available. Request dated quotation validity, currency, trade term and exclusions. Agree the event starting lead time and separate technical approval, manufacture, tests, factory release, dispatch and arrival. For a shutdown replacement, name the required arrival date and document gate rather than using an unspecified manufacturing period as a site-delivery promise.

Q&A

Buyer questions

Is 38 kW ready for a like-for-like comparison?

The reference temperature and full design conditions are missing here. Obtain a normalized current guarantee.

Is the smaller 6,300 kVA row more efficient for my project?

It serves a different capacity requirement. Compare candidates against actual duty rather than absolute catalogue losses.

Does 10.5% prove parallel compatibility?

No. The complete ratio, connection, taps, impedance basis/tolerance and system arrangement require review.

Does a quoted factory date cover a replacement shutdown?

Not by itself. Agree release, dispatch, arrival and document gates separately.
