Specify the material clearly and compare the proposed design using evidence.

State the contractual requirement
If the project requires copper windings, name the winding and scope explicitly: high voltage, low voltage, tertiary winding, leads and terminals. “Copper transformer” can leave the exact scope unclear. Ask the supplier to identify any mixed-material construction and list it as a quotation deviation. A product-family statement does not establish the bill of materials for an individual order.
Compare the complete design
Both copper and aluminium winding options exist in manufacturer product ranges. Material alone does not establish whether a transformer meets the required duty. Compare the offered rating, guaranteed losses, temperature rise, dimensions, mass and connection details together. Keep procurement preference separate from a claim that a material is inherently counterfeit or unusable.
Request a traceable declaration
Our suggested procurement workflow is to request the proposed model’s winding schedule, material declaration and relevant manufacturing records. Link each item to a drawing revision and purchase order. Where independent inspection is required, define its scope with the supplier and inspector before production. A generic certificate or photograph does not resolve the material used in the unit being offered.
Resolve inconsistent evidence
If the quotation says copper and the datasheet says aluminium, mark the field unresolved and ask for a corrected, signed submission. Preserve both versions in the project record. Do not publish a verified-material badge merely because a sales representative supplied an informal assurance. The platform’s winding-material filter only helps when a reviewed record actually states the material.
Agree acceptance before shipment
Define the documents, inspection stage, responsible party and treatment of substitutions in the purchase agreement. Final electrical and mechanical acceptance belongs to the qualified project team. Begin with the procurement checklist and compare documented products; unknown material fields should remain visible until a source resolves them.
